|Welcome to Passport to the Peaks.com
This website is devoted to a great new program being developed in the small town of Grande Cache, Passport to the Peaks. This program celebrates the beauty of over 20 mountain peaks that surround the town, and is designed to encourage hikers of every skill level to achieve a summit... or several!
Below is a brief description of each part of the website:
What is the Passport Program and how do you get involved? A detailed description of the Passport prgram, and instructions for how to become a Mountaineer!
The Passport is more than a program - it is also a handy guide book containing the correct topographical maps for each summit, with, in most cases, an overlaid course. No course means no one has ever been to that summit (or if they were they aren't telling!) Also included in the Passport are handy tips and other information about the area. This order form allows you to place an advanced order for the Passport Book, coming out this spring!
The usual: who to talk to for more information and where to find them.
Grande Cache:Getting Here
Where is Grande Cache anyway?? After finding Canada, look for a big spot called Alberta over to the west. This link takes you to a map of Alberta that shows the major highway routes to Grande Cache. This page also includes some handy info about the town.
The Passport Program would not be possible without the financial contributions of these great sponsors.
Just as important as the sponsors, these are the people who are putting in volunteer hours to create the program, build the trails, and map the courses.
